OPEN SWIM

Attendees may exercise or swim at their own risk in our warmly heated pool. Volunteer monitors usually available. Lap swimming, water exercising and some water exercising equipment available. Any personal equipment must be approved by staff. Open Swim is not available during Aqua Fitness classes. Swimmers are expected to be ready to exit the building by closing time. ADA compliant lift available. Bring your own attendant.
Other Activities

Any Center Activity, including time spent in the lobby, use of Dakim, use of the alcove computer, working in the gardens, Tax Aide, hanging a gallery show, Medicare counseling, etc. This is a catch-all for any Center Activity NOT listed elsewhere on this calendar, for the purposes of tracking attendance.

All of our aquacise classes provide aerobic and strength conditioning using water resistance and buoyancy. They include a warm up, a conditioning phase, a cool down, and stretches.

Zumba Gold

Latin and international dances simplified for beginners. Options for all in this cardiovascular workout that enhances balance, agility, and muscle strength. Rhythms highlighted in this program may include the Merengue, Cha Cha, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Salsa, Rock and Roll, Belly Dance, Flamenco, and Tango.

All of our Aqua-exercise classes provide a low impact way to work on muscular strength, endurance, flexibility and cardiovascular conditioning. Aqua equipment used at various times in the classes includes: water barbells, noodles, balls and kick boards. Some students use their own ankle or arm weights and water gloves to enhance their workout. Wearing water shoes is also suggested. Each student in the class chooses their own water comfort level. No swimming skills required.

Northfield Pedalers Bike Ride

(Meeting time changes as it gets colder) During the winter with the snow still on ground the Pedalers Group Meets at Cake Walk every Monday morning 9:30 am for coffee and a walk at 10:30 am. We are looking to gently start the Pedalers Group biking season in April.

Bike excursions leave from the Center every Monday at 8:30a.m. In town (shorter) and out of town rides are planned for each week. Enjoy riding with the group from 6-20 miles weekly. Club is designed for those looking for a fun time with folks, light to vigorous exercise at your own pace, but no time trials!
Volunteer led.
Fee: Free Activity, donations encouraged to cover administrative costs
Tai Chi Yang Style

The class moves through the 24 forms of Yang style Tai Chi. In addition to physical conditioning, Tai Chi is know to bring mental relaxation and improve concentration.
