Cheers to our FiftyNorth Volunteers
April is National Volunteer Month
In appreciation of our hundreds of volunteers, FiftyNorth is hosting a Volunteer Celebration on Friday, April 27 from 6:30-8pm. All who volunteer at FiftyNorth are invited to attend! Light hor d’ouvres and beverages will be served and Elinor Niemisto will be providing live music on her harp.
Memory Café is returning to FiftyNorth!
A Memory Café is a welcoming place for people with memory loss and for their family and friends. The environment is geared to the comfort and success of people with a wide range of cognitive capacities. The focus is socializing and creative exploration, activities common to all of us. The goals are to help all participants feel comfortable and to know that they are not alone. Cafés are a place to talk to other care partners who understand what you are going through, to leave limitations behind and instead focus on strengths, to enjoy each other’s company and to explore something new. This program is free to all care partnerships. Registration forms for the Café will be available at the information meeting and at the registration desk.A free information session about Memory Café will be held on Wednesday, April 11 from 1:00-2:30 in room 103. The first actual Café session will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at the same place and time as the information meeting.
