The popular trips to see Shakespeare in Winona are filling up, but there is still room to sign up for either or both of the two performances: Romeo and Juliet, Wed, July 15, 11:15am – 8pm and Much Ado About Nothing, Wed, July 22, 11:15am – 8pm. Each trip includes dinner and discussion afterwards with cast members. Cost for each is $75; reduced price of $140 for both. Northfield Historical Society Executive Director, Hayes Scriven, will take you on warm, non-icy tour of notable buildings in historic downtown Northfield. Using the wonderful old photos and maps from the Historical Society’s archives, Hayes will guide you through the early history of our town: its founding, early settlers and first businesses. Why is the Post Office positioned at the angle it is? What famous building once housed a Norwegian flatbread bakery? Learn these answers and a lot more fascinating facts.

The mighty Mississippi river has shown to be too mighty. All the rain we have received has forced Padelford and University of MN Centenial Showboat to suspend service from 6/21 until further notice.
